Footnote

More precisely, I suppose, this should be called subtitle. Read on, and prepare for your mind to be blown. Mine is still in pieces.

I’ll keep it brief.

In my last missive, if indeed that is what I should call it, I mentioned three things that had helped me through my period of incarceration. Go and have another look if you can’t remember, or read it now to bring yourself up to speed. It’s kind of essential that you are on the same page before you proceed.

If you’re sitting comfortably, and trust me on this, you will need to be seated when you realise the enormity of what I am about to reveal, then I’ll begin. Then, I’ll end.

Begin: the very next morning, after writing “Two Weeks Barefoot”, I woke at around 5 o’clock [that’s 5am in the morning, for those of you who know my feelings on this]. I had a couple of hours to kill while awaiting my taxi, so (among other mundane tasks) I decided to squeeze in another episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Imagine my amazement when a character was introduced as Inspector Knausgaard.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine - The Swedes - Review

End: that’s it. So what, I hear you ask. So what? In my last post, two of the things I had just cited as being helpful to my survival being linked like this! So what? Two things entirely unrelated, cited in my last post. The name Knausgaard in an episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. What are the chances? Seriously?

I tried a screen grab to present the evidence, for I fear some of you may doubt the veracity of my words. The image on screen failed, but I managed to capture the episode detail (top left) and the subtitle. See?

But wait… there’s more. The actor playing Inspector Knausgaard was a chap called Jonny Smith.

Okay, that last bit I just made up. It was in fact Anders Holm. That would have been just too weird, although I understand that Anders Holm translates from the Swedish as The Late Brake Show.

I’m off for a lie down.
